In Thailand Money has precedence over EVERYTHING else. Corruption is so wide spread and it goes all the way up to the top that the cancer can not be removed.

We went to Phuket in April and used a taxi from the airport to get to our hotel. He was the worst driver we had in the 3 weeks of our Thailand trip. Speeding all over the place. Wove across 3 lanes on every curve. We only used Grab after that. A few Grab drivers also declined to come to our hotel because they were afraid of the taxi drivers that waited around the hotel.

With both the Election Commission and the Constitutional Court instruments of the military, one can only hope the election result is honoured and respected.

Thailand is rife with corruption. Hopefully the new govt can start cleaning up things. Disgusting.

It’s common knowledge that Lyft and Grab drivers can’t even enter the airport. I have to walk out of the parking lot to get picked up.

Just wonder if the Military has big enough balls and use their 250 seats in the senate to form a government? Gonna be blood in the streets if they do.

I have lived in Thailand for 23 years, full time. I think the police corruption may well be rife high up but on street level it's a lot cleaner now than it was 10 or 12 years ago.😊

Easy, everyone should boycott all taxi's in Phuket

Reference the endemic corruption within the RTP.
This problem will be significantly reduced if all officers spend a maximum of two years in any one location and/or position

If this newly elected government comes into power, it will not last long before the next coup-d'etat. Hail Victory!

Recruit a new police force same as in the army. Allow eligible young men to serve 2 years. When the new police force is fully ready, get rid of the old police force, starting from the top. It's funny how Thai police receive such a low monthly salary compared to a new army recruit who receives 10, 000 THB per month along with benefits. It appears it is setup that way to encourage corruption in order to make ends meet.
