My name is Jay Swanson - I'm an American writer living in Paris on an artist visa. Paris (yes the one in France) has been my home for years now and I have every intention of staying here for as long as they'll have me. I write science-fiction and fantasy, vlogged daily for 3+ years, and love pizza a little too much. Now I make videos about visiting Paris, traveling in Europe, and try to share what I've learned along the way. I hope you enjoyed what you found.

Jay, you turned me on to this during your early videos and after that I ran two tour groups to France. Each group had kids and I got them into the game. I made it a contest with a monetary prize. Wow did this keep the kids heads up looking at the city. The parents could not believe how well it worked and praised me for the idea. Credit was given to you and the street artist. Because of you, my brother and SIL had their girls looking for invaders all over Paris and it TOTALLY kept them occupied and happy to keep walking. We looked in London, but only saw one. Should have looked harder. Super fun!!!

We visit Paris every couple of years. Several years ago, i started noticing the Space Invaders, but, i had no idea of their intent or history. There was still something about them that was engaging and that invited looking more closely at places I might have missed otherwise. I remember asking my wife, "Have you noticed the little tile pieces that look like space invaders?" She hadn't. We kept seeing them on subsequent trips, and finally, I saw one of the videos where you're hunting them, and we were hooked. I didn't load the app until last trip, so my score is pretty pathetic, but, when friends are going to Paris, we always suggest they join the search.

Oh yeah I remember seeing these all around Le Marais. Not seen the London one yet though. Weirdly was chatting about this with a fella from Chartres about these before even knowing this video was up. I looked all over when I was in Paris last summer. Every time I found one, I was ecstatic…but, I had a difficult time distinguishing between the real ones, that I got points for, and the fakes. Both in Marseilles and Paris, I kept finding lots of fakes. But, you’re right…it IS a blast to look for them!
