Rock under stress! (Poisson’s ratio)

The Tee Rosette shown in this video is a very versatile strain gage. It is used in stress analysis when the directions of the principal strains are known, and will not change during the course of testing. It is also often used to measure axial forces, either by calculation from the measured strains, or by a direct known-force calibration.

when i got my first job at 18 years a old head in our company let me install some of your strain gages on some parts we got from Airbus i think. The same week we also got some porsche parts to work with. Really interessting.
