How I got the world record for mining a chunk in Minecraft

Finally, I got a mine a chunk world record, and I did it with its most difficult iteration, 1.18. In Minecraft update 1.18, bedrock is moved 64 blocks lower. This means either twice the mining, or an amazing strategy like what we used.

Note that there are faster 2-player mine a chunk speedruns, but they are on earlier versions of Minecraft. With the 1.18 update, bedrock was moved 64 blocks down, so I think this should just be considered a different category.

So this was the new world record for 2-Player Mine A Chunk on Minecraft version 1.18, with my friend PointCrow. With the 1.18 update, bedrock was moved 64 blocks lower, so we thought it'd be fun to be the first people to get the record. Enjoy!

For the whole video I was like: "You guys DO know, you can get bonemeal from composters and use it on moss to mine out huge chunks of stone with hoes instantly? You know that right?" Can't say I'm dissappointed though. You and Eric both make extremely entertaining content and that stacked up here.

this video tells two stories: on the outside, it shows the story of the speedrun. but on the inside it tells the tale of the editor and their tree. beautiful work
