You never turn so the propellers go toward them! You always turn the boat so the propellers go away from the people!

I have a cousin who died jumping off a boat and literally got all caught into the propeller it was absolutely HORRIFYING. Her leg and torso was literally all crushed and twisted around the propeller and she was screaming. She didn’t make it she bled out and lost almost half her body from it. They couldn’t pull her out of the propeller. Wasn’t there but I heard about it and it was on the news Rip to her and I am now forever afraid of boats like this

NEVER jump off a moving boat- the propellers are extremely dangerous. idgaf if your soulmate jumped first, you wait until the boat is stationary and the engines are off

Boat pilot is a moegoe.
Never turn the boat away from the person who has gone overboard.
One reason is to not have to cross a double wake when approaching to pick up the person in the water.
The second is so that the pilot doesn't lose sight of the person in the water in case they sink and he is not sure of where they went down.
Third is to avoid the danger of the propellers injuring the person in the water when the stern kicks out towards them.
