YouTube are in the process of creating a new Creator Studio for video creators and some of the basic functions have changed, one of them being how to download your own YouTube video. In this simple tutorial, we show you how and why what you download isn't necessarily what you originally uploaded.

For those who are looking:

If you want to download others youtube videos, then you need VLC media player. It is a trusted application for video formating. Yes, it is free.

To convert a youtube video into a video file:
1. Open VLC mediaplayer
2. Go to Media
3. Go to Open Network Stream
4. Paste the URL of the video you want in that box
5. Press play
6. Wait for video to load
7. Go to media
8. Go to Convert / Save
9. Choose the file you want the video to be sent to (as well as other adjustments)
10. Press Convert / Save

And you should have successfully downloaded a video!

For anyone that didn't get the answer they were looking for, try google "youtube mp3" and you should find something like "ytmp3" (don't worry about the name, you can choose between mp3 or mp4). That's how you can download ANY video from Youtube. Like this post so people can see.
