In life, and in these shows, sometimes the first note is that one most important note to hit
the energy they were throwing at him from the second note was like "um.' Part of that is

the arrangement which didn't give him much place to go; the bass was kind of missing, and all the music was in the middle range. But also, he seemed to not be given a plan, an arc, for where to stop and where to take it. Bringing it down to a whisper would have been right for "baby, tell me like it is" as a performance piece. those are just some thoughts.

This guy has good voice but in my opinion, he butchered this song . He did way too many runs and shouting. The beauty of this song is in the smoothness of the song and the simplicity of the voice singing it.

Great singer and great song. But imma still have to say it was a bad song choice. Anytime you do a cover of someone w a voice as unique and recognizable as Aaron Neville you’ll always be second best
