Andre says "A mathematical graph IS ... a form for storing data. A mathematical graph consists of vertices and edges. One chunk of data resides in a vertex, also calles a node. The relationship between two nodes and the intensity of it, is preserved in the edge located between those nodes. When one draws a graph on paper, the visualisation consists of circles and of bows that connect those circles. This is called the Circle Arc Diagram (CAD) (Dutch: "cirkel bogen diagram" (CBD), German: "Zirkelbogendiagramm" (ZBD), French: "diagramme d'anneaux et de cercles" (DAC)) The circles represent the nodes (= vertices) and the arcs (or lines) the relationship between them (= edges).
