Tour Planning & Chaos or is it Chaos & Tour Planning - 2022 Ep 12

Sorry, but this is going to be a long one. I've got some major changes coming up and life is going to get a little chaotic but after 2 years of lockdowns keeping us off the roads, I've got an itch to travel and after my last video on planning a trip around Newfoundland here's the idea I have got to scratch that itch. We'll get to Ontario and then maybe down the Mississippi! Why not? Hit some rallies and get togethers. Visit Wheels Thru Time again, the Tail of the Dragon, the Blueridge Parkway and Skyline Drive. I'm going to be homeless so I might as well travel while I'm healthy and then find somewhere to hole up for the winter.

Hey Jim, recently discovered your channel, been binge watching, trying to scratch my itch to ride. Been a long winter. I ride a Yamaha 1700 Roadstar and been all around the island, but haven't ventured off. You've inspired me to finally get off the island this summer. Great channel. Hi Jim, just finished watching your Tour Planning & Chaos video. Wow very interesting & big plans. Congrats on your home sale. Being without a home base is very adventurous. Not something I’ve ever experienced in my entire life (Thank goodness, not for me) but you seem very motivated by your future travels. Ever get the feeling you were born about 250 years too late. You would have been suited to a pioneer roaming & living off the land.

Great plans Jim. I will say, if you are looking for cheap land you are in the place for that now in NL. Prices have gone up here in NS the last couple of years for sure. I get it that NS is home and I can understand fully that you want to end up in NS. For me that is NL and being in NS currently I am planning on being in NL within a couple of years and doing as you have planned. We have some WOOFing planned to learn about the specific farming we want to do and take it from there. I've been scoping out some good youtuber's for off grid power. That stuff is coming down in price daily and very affordable now, so that's definately doable. I have been to Memphis and the Graceland Mansion and it is something to see for sure. Don't think about it, just do it, and you will need at least a half of a day to give it justice Jim. What ever you do Jim, don't spend too much time working and not traveling. As you say your health can change in a moment and then it's all over. "Why put off until tomorrow what you can do today"?

Impressive as always and opening up to us is not always easy. First and foremost congrats on selling your house, but also I hope you follow thru with your Home Stead concept as well. I can see that happening with you and your idea on someone helping to look after it while you still travel. Hell, you could always put it out there as adventure to live in the bush for a month, I'm sure there are persons out there that would pay for it. On a side note, when I lived in B.C. a friend of mine asked if I would like to help with branding and inoculation so I said sure why not over the long weekend ( Friday thru to Monday) Well, I was surprised when I got there, there were people from Spain, Germany, Japan the States that actually paid to live in the middle of no where to help do this. Thank you for the great video and I wish you safe travels as well. Oh, by the way still working on longer videos...all in good time as mom would say.

I have enjoyed motorcycle for many years. In 2017 I started enjoying traveling with a tent and sleeping bag. That stopped in 2020 due to covid and some life changes and now "Retired" I'm ready... Being 66 yrs. old I remember the issues of trying to dress and get out of the tent without falling on my face and decided to get a tent trailer. Hence my finding your YouTubes. My first trip from home in New Jersey will be north, Letchworth State Park in NY then next to Toronto, where I was born. After taking in Toronto it's on to Kawartha Lakes, Peterborough and Lindsay - areas I grew up in. From there, on to Wisconsin for the annual Roadglide get - together.

Any issues with the propane tank ie tunnels, bridges, ferries etc?
Balancing the trailer - you have weight on the tongue, do you counter that at the back?
