If you want to eat rotten flesh, its ok. You only need to just stand and dont jump. It will not reduced your hunger if you dont move. Just stay and eating if you at a bad spot with only rotten flesh.

And yeah dogs can eat rotten flesh with ez and didnt get the hunger effect and heal it self. So bring 1 stack of rotten flesh if you traveling with your dog
