The Power of a Haircut - Cabaret Meets Berlin Techno

LIFE IS A CABARET

Ok, this is a bit of a weird one but weird’s good, weird’s what keeps me going…

One of the looks I had in my mind when I invited Roxy over was “Berlin Techno” as I was inspired by the extremely outspoken dress code most of the Berlin clubs maintain… The “Dress less to impress” with a lot of elements from the fetish and BDSM underground has always intrigued me (I actually used to date an extremely strict door b*tch, tough as nails, back in my glory days that everybody was afraid off but was actually a real sweetheart 😂♥️)

My original idea was to do an aggressive tribal design in black and white combined with a rubber/latex outfit…

BUT…. And this is what I love about working with such talented and professional creatives, when Jaff showed me this Jean Paul Gaultier inspired outfit she made from scratch she completely changed my mind…
I think by now you’ve seen that Batsie is a stunning woman, very sensual and even though we were still orbiting each other 🪐🥰 I can’t deny I was already highly attracted to her, not just because of her looks, but above all her confidence and how she embraces her sexuality and I think this look is a tribute to every woman out there who isn’t afraid to flaunt their stuff…

Paul was once my apprentice but in this case the student surpassed his mentor and I’m so EXTREMELY PROUD of the name he made for himself becoming on of the most asked for hair and make-up artists in the Lowlands, and even though we bust each other’s balls ALL… DAY… LONG… I want to take this moment to tell Paul I ♥️ him…

I got a cabaret / veaudeville vibe from the look so I tried to imagine a remake of the original movie in these modern days using Liza Minelli’s signature short pixie and my love for Sassoon’s architectural haircuts as inspiration…

Moral of this story, surround yourself with people that inspire you, free your mind and who knows what you’ll create today…
