I feel like we’re getting more backstory on the Emeralds, from what we know already, they’ve been part of several civilisations, and older than anything as they’re used to fix the broken planet every 10, 000 years.

I think whay this is hinting to is that a tribe even older than his own created the cyberdpace protals and traveled to the Starfall islands, maybe even created sage, but from this alone we know that they're older tham knuckles clan and didnt just stay on Angel island, but from what were seeing it seems like cyberspace might specifically be an after effect because of sonic and the gang considering when knuckles travel he didnt entet cyber space he was teleported straight to the other island
