My wife is 8 months pregnant and as she was driving today, she got involved in a terrible head collision accident. Her car was pushed 15 metres away while she was inside. She was displaced from the driving seat to the passenger seat. I thank God she survived without any injuries except swellings. After checkups, the baby is 100% okay. God is great.

This song has helped me through so much. I love that worship calls us to “lift our eyes”…but I also love that worship calls us to “lower” them as well. A chance to look down at the things we’ve been standing on…things we’ve put the full weight of our trust in. It’s a reminder for me that if something in my life is shaking…there is a divine invitation to adjust my footing. I love that we recorded this live version a few weeks ago and I’m so happy to share it!

In a couple days it is the day I was born, and also the day my mum died decades later. That night I was celebrating and was supposed to call her back, but didn't. I kept on saying, "I would call her in the morning. I woke at 3am to my phone ringing and heard the voice of my youngest sister saying to me as she cried, "mommy gone". I couldn't understand but I reached for my Bible and prayed as I frantically got dressed. My husband was speeding to get to the hospital. As I walked down the long corridor to the morgue, I saw my father crying, my sister crying, still I kept hoping that this was not happening. As I walked through the door, I saw my other sister over my mum just staring at her and crying, I looked to my right, and saw my husband drop to the ground, leaning on the wall crying; still I was in hoping this was not happening I walked over to my mum, touched her hair, touched her face, and said, "wake up mum, why are you here?". As the tears started to fall, I looked up and said, "it is over, God you have taken her home". That night, my mum died in a head on collision when she was going home from working the graveyard shift at the hospital, where she was now laying in the morgue. My morning call to her never happened. God has kept me steadfast through the years after her death, but every year when it comes close to my birthday, I shed tears. What a beautiful, wonderful day for my mum when she had me because I was her first born child, we grew up together because my parents married when she was 18 and I was born. That birthday became a dreaded day for me because this is the day, I lost my best friend! God continues to strengthen me, my heart is hurting, my strength is failing....but I know God is in this fire with me.
