Pleasure to listen to this guy. He simplifies things. Einstein said we don't understand things until we can explain them to a child.

My experience conflicts with the Dr's views on meat, perhaps he is taking about meat only in the context of the standard American diet.

The carnivore way of eating saved me from debilitating back pain, nerve pain, joint pain, muscle pain, digestive issues, raised blood pressure, 20kg over weight. It took around 8 months for these problems to resolve. Now, 2 years on carnivore I'm completely pain free and never felt and looked healthier.

Only eating fatty meats, seafood, eggs and dairy.

My father in law 82 just had a stroke. The Dr. said it was because of a blood clot in his aota because of severe irregular heartbeat . There were 3 clots that went to the brain.
He is not overweight but he does very little exercise or movement . Eats a lot of white rice. And very little other foods.
Poor diet and very little movement.

What a wonderful man Dr. Ignarro is! I have learned so much, not only about nitric oxide but what a wonderful, intelligent and caring man the good doctor is. I am curious, does nitric oxide have any healing effects on the endothelium or do we need to look at other ways to heal and or nurture our endothelium? Thank you for all of your hard work and all the long hours to bring to the world this very important information. Thank you Dr. Ignarro!

I wonder why there have been no other medicals further developed from this findings to reduce heart diseases when it was already found 1998 ?? And it is interesting too that viagra/sildafenil was developed as heart medication. And it was a by-product to found out that it helps at erectile dysfunction. Soo, there seem to be not much about helping on vessel-diseases. I guess in 1998 it was propper and today it is an outdated information or do I get something wrong??

I have to disagree! Cutting out vegetables, grains and carbs in general has done wonders for my health! I will not be going back to consuming foods containing high oxalate and lectin levels.

Thanks Jesse for this fruitful episode. For me it was very important the role of colorful fruits & vegetables in boosting the effect of N.O through the action of antioxidants they are rich in. Also the way of Dr. Ignarro in delivering the information was amazing! And finally i knew the secret behind Popeye power :)

So your mention of nitrate is in the soil. How can you say eat the right foods when you don’t know if the food you eat has the minerals in the soil? As far as meat, everyone lumps corn fed and grass fed in the same category. Research has shown already that saturated far has not been proven to cause heart disease. Your research was 25 years ago. Even the soil has been depleted in what use to be. If your going down that rabbit hole then you better show some recent studies regarding that. Everyone is still parroting old beliefs without proving if it apply’s today!
