My high was while showing a Tennessee walking horse in a western pleasure class. I did not own this horse, he was 17 years old and extremely well trained. I actually garnered a 4th place competing with a large class of quarter horses! The owner was an elderly horse traiiner that I working for. She bet me that I could win a ribbon with this horse if I could do what the judges asked. Big lesson learned.

My low was while competing in barrel racing event with my own horse. Failed to place because I sat up after the last barrel. I learned that you never quit until you are out of the arena.

I'm sorry - I totally lost the story because I was so busy watching this gorgeous horse steal the show! Such a character!

Great topic and reel. High's when my horse and I are integrated mentally, emotionally and spiritually and we just flow together. Low's on the rare horse I struggle to connect with who I really want to connect with having no may look pretty to others, but I know the difference.

It looked like Gigi wanted a drink from the hose. It's fascinating to watch her ear movement since she's deaf. (Correct me if I'm wrong about that.)

The high: the epiphany of finally understanding feel…..

Low: letting fear take over and having it affect my horse on the trail and causing a spook. Ie not being a good leader that day.

I wonder if Gigi's deafness makes it easier for her to accept new things -- one less sensory input to cause concern. She is so calm friendly and focused on the human.

GG is such a character❤I bet she would drink the water out of that hose if the pressure was low!
One of my highs was gaining 2nd place at an unoficial dressage competition at the end of a 4 week training course I was on, with my little Welsh cob pony.
My lows are mostly down to feeling frustrated with myself and my inadequate horsemanship skills and worrying I've got it wrong and messed up my horse.

I had two highs in the small local shows I participated in with my cutting horse. One was when I plussed on the gate in trail thanks to having worked long and hard on separating the components of the obstacle and executing them perfectly. She had learned to try to work the gate herself including pushing it with her nose so that was a big deal. The second was when I asked the judge why I'd won the reining (that had never happened) and found she'd plussed my fast to slow circle transitions because she couldn't see my cues at all. The low had to be when I thought I'd won a western pleasure class with my old turnback gelding because he was the only one who continued his gait and direction perfectly when a train whistled by on the nearby tracks. The other horses reared, bucked, and ran off. Unfortunately, the judge dismissed that part of the class and my big boy placed low. Oh, well.

"Hi's" are the plural of hello. "Highs" are when you're doing well.

Omgoodness sweet- sweet ears! ❤
May I ask, have her ears always been so cute and floppy?
I actually have a question in regard to her sweet ears?
In a nut shell, my horse got bit by a snake and before that her ears were good and pointy, and very radar-ing! But now her ears aren’t ‘working’ properly.
Yes, she had seen a vet and was treated. Vet said it could take up to 6 months for her ears to bounce back.
