"Role reversal is NOT SUSTAINABLE!" Both genders become resentful.

Dating or marrying a man who earns a significantly lower income is a disaster waiting to happen. The man will EVENTUALLY come to despise you, as his financial weakness is amplified to members of his (and your) family and friends. He'll cheat on you to reclaim his battered ego. He'll steal from you to impress his new girlfriend, and bad mouth you to anyone who would grant him a listening ear. Ladies, avoid "hyPOgarmy" (dating down) at all cost. You can NEVER get back lost youth that was spent on a dusty. You can earn back lost money, but your youth will be gone forever. Be wise

Dear Black Ladies,

Please don’t take advice from a Black Man that wears a dress!

I saw his first movie: “Diary of a Mad Black Woman”. Only because someone showed it to me as a Live Play first!

Never saw any of his other Movies after that! I could not relate to the Storylines!

I’ve been Married since 2005. ME and my Hubby met in College. We started off doing Business together, now he took over and I am his Pampered Princess! Struggle Love can kick rocks!

I'm living a soft life and will rest in my femininity. 😊 I am not my grandmother or great-grandmother

It always baffles me that the hypogamy narrative pushed is that a man who loves you and a man who makes enough to provide for you are mutually exclusive. You can have both, and a man who loves you wouldn’t permanently put you in a role reversal position. It’s one thing to make $5k more than him, but when the gap can never be breached it’s a disaster waiting to happen.

This all coming from a multimillionaire is crazy

I was so disgusted with his commentary! The expectation for black women to accept struggle love is incomprehensible. It doesn’t work ! Generally speaking men feel their BEST when they can provide .

Auntie here. I don't have the money that Mary J and the other celebrities have but I have experience in role reversal leveling down dating and I'm here to tell you, I DOES NOT I wish I could say that I experienced it only once but I must say the result was always the same. I began to resent them and they took out their insecurities by cheating usually with a woman with less money that provided boost to their financial ego. I come from the "a piece of a man is better than none" generation and I am here to tell you IT IS Waiting to see how long Rhianna Nicki Minaj and Fantasia gonna last.
I think Tyler was trying to help women but he spoke without taking stock of his experiences. Are these women that he knows of really happy? I'll bet all of them will say "I'm tired of holding things down". What Tyler does know how to do is "get the bag" and I agree that his advice will be best served showing Black men how to do the same.

Also, the narrative that you have to settle for love is just sad. Tyler you know better. True love GIVES and PROVIDES. PERIOD. If you really love me, then you'll do whatever it takes to provide and GIVE. The thing that I don't understand is why not encourage and motivate black men to do and produce more? Here is the at the big picture. Destroying black families has had colossal impact. And role reversal is the foundation of destroying families. Look around. Stop gaslighting us.

Ladies, do you. And never settle. Men i encourage you to reach for your full potential and THEN you can have your pick of whatever women you want!!!

When a woman becomes the provider for the family she's taking on one of two roles. She's either becoming the masculine role in the relationship or she's becoming the surrogate mother to a dusty. Real men are the providers and protectors of the relationship. I agree with Ms. Chloe. I have made the big mistake of playing both roles in my relationships with men. The outcome always led to the termination of the relationship. The man either left because he didn't want to be "mothered" by a pick me or I left because I got tired of supporting a broke dusty.

Ms. Chloe, you are 100 percent right!!! It's time for men to man up and it's time for ladies to see the reality of this VERY BAD MISTAKE!

It doesn’t work and it never will, you will be burn out and he will start making you feel crazy for wanting him to step up.
Don’t do it ladies.

I REFUSE to take advice from a man that REFUSES to come out of the closet.

My fiancé just told me that I need to quit my job because I’m pregnant. He will take care of the home. And yes he’s black so they are very rare 😭😭😭 I was happy to hear that but I still choose to come to the office, my fiancé says when you are tired let me know 😂😅

This “settle for scapes” narrative is so consistent coming out of Hollywood, it’s hard not to feel it’s intentional propaganda.

I’m just trying to understand why he said “especially bkack women” like sir how come you didn’t also push this narrative to white women?

Just like you said, its not what men do. Men provide, protect, produce. No hobosexuals need apply. A man who can only pay the light bill need not date, needs to go to trade school so he can support himself and pay all his bills.

Also, ladies, avoid “building a man”. Especially, if he’s not building you up! If he doesn’t fit your requirements, throw him in the trash!

So is he going to give that advice to the King of England granddaughter? I mean he his Harry & Meghan's kids godfather after all. Like what kind of advice is that. Tell the black men in the community to do better in order to be at the level of black women. This is a 'patriarchy' we are living in.
