Totally agree on the numbers game. Any performance car nowadays is gonna be fast, gas or electric, but electric is gonna smoke it in the real world. What matters is how the car makes you feel- the experience. That's all I care about anymore. Does it give me a smile? Is it fun and rewarding? That's what really matters.

The state of this car reminds me of how Cammisa talked about the 991.2 911. A 911 that doesn't have any performance-enhancing options (like rear-wheel steer, adjustable dampers, etc.) ends up being an incredibly satisfying car because it feels more natural and as close to the ethos of the original car as one can get in a modern version. Lap times and raw speed are so overrated compared to getting the driving experience right.

A really nice and mature presentation, hatts off to the presenter for being analytical respectful and spot on. Enough with some silly ass childish reviews with 0-100, drag testing and goofing off that get thousands of views. Car and driver never disappoints

Carlos is a great on screen presenter. YouTube is not just the future of automotive journalism, it's The Now ! I still have a few automotive magazine subscriptions, but I rarely ever read them as I prefer this format much better. More of this please.

Keep ‘‘em coming Carlos! I agree with you 100%, sometimes the numbers game get overwhelming so it nice to come back down to earth and “stay in you own lane” great video

Awesome video with great insight. I really felt like I was getting a 1 on 1 evaluation of the car with a manual and not just some video with a bunch of drag races and benchmark numbers. Excellent review!!

I had a 2020 Model 3P. It was fun in the beginning - my first EV and all. It then started to wear on me. Everyone has one it seems. It goes straight great, but that is it. I am not concerned with fuel cost or the environment. If someone does, good for them. I sold it 3 months ago as people are paying insane used car prices for these things, and bought a 2022 M3C. WOW! My drive is now exciting, and taken to a level of fun I could never squeeze out of my Tesla. The sounds, the engagement, the looks. I do not see them everywhere, even in Orange County. I finally enjoy driving again, and love the far better made interior materials, and craftsmanship. Owning the Tesla was like having a mechanical dog, it did a few things great, but without a soul or character, I could not love it.

I picked up an M4 Comp xDrive convertible a couple of weeks ago. LOVE IT! BMW has fixed a lot of problems with the steering feel and xDrive fixes a lot of other stability issues. Kudos to BMW for this new generation of M3/M4!!

Love love this video, Carlos! You bring such a calm and appropriate mindset to this vehicle. I'm definitely in the sporty yet family fun sedan group. And you're completely right, nowadays EVs are pulling insane hp figures but it's all about the drive and the driver's preference. I absolutely love this M3 and I am excited for the future of this vehicle.

I thought this video was gonna be more of the same information but I was wrong and I thoroughly enjoyed this! Thank you Carlos!

Great and fair overall analysis. For all those complaining about looks or 0-60 times, you're missing the bigger picture of how rapidly this type of vehicle (manual sports sedan) is evaporating from the market, and that we should be thankful BMW still makes it. When we're all driving single-speed EVs in ten years and bragging about -- how quiet the motors are? how good the autonomous mode is? -- I suspect drivers will look back more fondly on the mechanical texture and engagement that comes with a car like this, warts and all. Between the alternatives of a more raw, unrefined Mustang, a lower spec WRX, or a princely yet less practical GT3, the M3 is really the goldilocks in the market. The CT4-BW is likely the closest real competitor, though even it seems a touch smaller and less refined overall, even if the dynamics are top notch.

Nice review. Excellent spec - I like the look of smaller rims and “beefy” tire profiles.

Very well put - driving, was always about.... driving. Nowadays with the tech and media overload on everything people have turned enthusiasm for cars into shopping sheets instead of happiness. If you like to drive something and it makes you smile, youre on the right track 😀

I know it’s so minor but Carlos you’re a saint for the smaller wheel comment. The sport rims on that car make me physically uncomfortable. It makes those rims look like they’re seconds from shattering at any point.

Hopefully the refresh brings a different grill design

I like the look of those tires NOT being rubber bands way more than the current style.

Every driver should treat their car like this!.. just enjoy the feedback your car has to you and the road.

Great review. I am ordering the same car and was considering the optional rims, but now I am convinced to get what I am already paying for- the standard rims and tires. Like he said, I like more of that sidewall and this more "black." Makes the car look meaner I think!
