The engine doesn't get damaged. Your turbo is gonna have a little bit more stress but nothing is going to break immediately. Let's say the turbo makes 200k Kilometers with the valve. With blocked off valve it's going to make 170k Kilometers before it needs to get rebuild. Most Turbos can withstand the little bit extra pressure that is going back from the throttle plate

that knocking sort of noise is probably one of the pully's. lucky they're cheap to replace, but it could be it.

That knocking or banging is either your fan or your crank pulley and the inert rubber center that bonds the two halves together has split.

I'm concerned about the knock and I wish I could identify it for you. I do appreciate the flutter sound because I've had the fun of hearing it until I'm ready for it to be gone and all this required no effort at all for me. Thank you. You're a prince. 😉

If it’s coming and going it’ll be to do with the fan, it only kicks in when needed to keep the engine cool. Sounds like plastic so it’ll be the fan knocking on something

I'm not an engineer, but my assumption is that if there is an electronic recirculating blow off valve, it serves a purpose. IE: Keeping boost up while driving
The proper way to control boost is with a properly dialled wastegate and for me I'd rather have a screamer pipe than a stutututu.

Also the gap near the pod filter is where the factory airbox goes.

I think It could just be a loose pulley like you said I reckon. I know that a sound like that happens on some of the last gen Mustangs, its a common problem on them for some reason, but the bolts on them just need a tighten

Hi Rex can you please check in the boot on the right side behind the cover the color and code of the light failure box.

Noise might be the crank pulley, take the serpentine belt off and see if the pulley has any play. If the noise is from the head it’ll be vvti cam gear or the vvti solenoid.

That knocking.thats the sound of u geting a rotary rx3 or 2 13b pp turbo

That stustustu sounds is caused by surge & kills turbos. If you want a mod that you'll really love for Turbo sounds, do the HKS TR51 mod! 😉😉😉

Sounds like the fan clutch, but it might be the belt tensioner

I had/have the same knocking sound in my jzx. Havent heard it last couple of weeks though
