The Pipes The Pipes

Our commission The Pipes, The Pipes premiered at The Dock in January 2015, and then went on to tour as a sell-out show at the RHA Gallery for the St. Patrick’s Festival Dublin and another sell-out show at Centre Culturel Irlandais in Paris last October. It will return to The Dock during the summer of 2016.

Devised by pioneering DJ, music curator Donal Dineen and three exceptional uilleann pipers, Padraig McGovern, Leonard Barry and Maitiú O Casaide, the work included a live response by Paris based visual artist and videographer Lionel Palun who responded to the music’s mesmerising soundwaves by conjuring live images that were projected behind the performing musicians in real time.
