Would You Like To Live In A Cashless Society?

You know that common saying, "Cash is king"? Well, let’s think of a society where that’s not the case. An economy in which physical money is not a thing anymore and everything is digital. And who controls this digital system? A government. Now, this may sound like something straight out of a dystopian novel or a sci-fi movie, but slowly, it’s becoming a reality!

There are benefits as well as drawbacks to a cashless society. Let’s start with the advantages first.

Cash gives individuals power, while digital money uses the argument of "crime" to control individuals. In America, police officers can seize $10, 000 if they see you carry it in your car, all in the name of fighting crime, while Taiwanese, Koreans, and Japanese deal with cash, and having that much money should NOT equate to suspicion of crime. America doesn't actually have as much freedom as many believe. You just need to step outside your own world to know how you've been manipulated

One thing you're kind of forgetting is cryptocurrencies. Ironically physical cash is more traceable than cryptocurrencies like monero. Every dollar bill has a serial number on it and when it goes into an ATM that gets tracked into a database. It's how a lot of police departments figure out where drug dealers are centrally located. I do think dollar bills will be around for a long time but I already see kids with lemonade stands that have a little QR code you scan to pay them. Just because we are cashless doesn't mean we can't be anonymous.
