In Greece it’s very similar. We hug friends, and tell them we love them. And touch their shoulders, hold their hand (in special occasions) etc. No attraction, just people being people and needing human contact. We can be very affectionate. I could totally embarrass myself in Korea…

I was judged so hard by ajummas in the Subway ... i wss travelling with my friend in seoul and 2 ajummas started talking to us and were friendly until they asked if we were a couple ( we are both latinos, my friend isnt even into women, but i did not need to expose that ).. i said no, we are friends... and they were like.... ohhh so "lovers " then... it took us minutes trying to explain our culture, but it was wasted time... they dont get it.

Mexican here, when my japanese friend introduced me to his korean friend (girl) and I did the normal kiss and half hug we do here, he told me not to do that ever to anyone asian unless I wanna get punched in the face. To this day, I have followed that rule.
