Come Follow Me: Moroni and Pahoran

In this week's Book of Mormon Study, we consider the dialogue between Captain Moroni and Governor Pahoran as a dichotomy for our own lives. It begs the questions of how we respond to people who are critical of us and how to express concerns when others are doing things critical to our beliefs. IN order to rightly achieve those outcomes most consistent with the Lord's two great commandments, two principles are taught by these chapters. First off, to exercise our faith, to do the things that imbue us with and strengthen faith so that we are motivated to better keep the commandments and show Christ that we love him. Secondly, to learn to see our brethren as children of God, heirs to the kingdom, and potential recipients of Christ's atoning sacrifice. After all, He bled and died and rose for EVERYONE, not just those you know and like. These chapters also offer us an invitation to consider how we react when God calls people to positions or blessings that perplex us, to ask what He sees in them that we cannot and then to look for those things as well. I myself am remiss at this, and I will try to be better. In this video, I attempt to rectify and repent of such a mistake in my first Come Follow Me video which was published. May God have mercy on me for my weaknesses...
