PLANNER SETUP | ONE BOOK JULY 2020

A major and a minor! My major will be digital planning, and my minor will be paper planning for #onebookjuly. In this video I go over the two paper planners I will be using. The Jibun Techo B6 Slim is my favorite planner of all time. I'm so excited to take it off the shelf and use it again. I haven't been in a personal traveler's notebook in years! My experiment will determine what things I like to plan online, and what I like to plan digitally :D

Hey, Sylvia, thanks for the video, I really enjoyed watching i. I'm using a B6 Stalogy right now, together with a Jibun Techo, both snugged up in a de-ringed personal Malden. It works!!! Stalogy is my everything - brainsortming, note-taking, journaling, tracking, loging and thought-sorting machine. Jibun does the time related stuff (and does it so well, as you know.)
Probably, when I have more time on my hands, I will want something prettier again. But for now, every month is a One-Book-July for me.

I used an A6 for a bullet journal for 5 months. I liked how compact and portable the size was but I was always running out of writing space. I went up to B6 and am staying there. Like you I choose happiness!

LOL! I hear One Book July and though I've been using only one book for the last couple months, I suddenly want to use 3 different planners! I am currently trying to make myself use an A5 Stalogy. I set up months in the front, then weeks, then daily notes. It is working okay. I actually liked my A6 Stalogy, but it was a page a day. I would do a really small month on a page, monthly to dos/appointments/ monthly tracker/week on one page with appointments/then page per day with to do list and place for notes about the day. I liked it because it fit in my purse better. When I travel a lot for work, it is perfect. But now that I'm home all the time, I was using a B6 then tried the A5 and seemed to stick. My problem is, I have been not using it like I should . Then I can't remember what I did when... Sucks getting old!

I have the same A6 stalogy and it is gorgeous but I couldn’t use it for anything other than straight writing/journalling. The paper is gorgeous and I love the size of the grid (much more comfortable to write along the lines than the too teeny grid on the Hobonichi A6 for example). I also couldn’t see myself setting up such a teeny book with ‘spreads’, maybe the A5 stalogy if I was into doing spreads but I’m definitely not into that at the moment. I was happy to see the reappearance of your Jibun Techo, which will always be ‘the one that got away’ for me. I love it, love everything about it, but just can’t commit to it ever haha! I am also glad you are still loving your Croc personal as an EDC. I am still in my personal filofax EDC too and I think this July is one year since I really started using it so that is a big deal for me!

A6 is my favorite size and I do like the stalogy.. I use it more for notes and like a general place to keep my writing notes and information I want to keep

OMG! I am watching you and at the A6 - I have the A6 stalogy awhile back - the same thing- totally not drawn to it but in my mind somewhere I decided, hey- let's have a go at the A6 (since I sold every A6 cover I owned like two years ago- yeah there's that)
But I had one left and it made TOTAL sense one morning like at 3 AM...you know how EVERYTHING makes sense in the middle of the night - and you wake up the next day saying wait, what? I bought another freakin' notebook...OK, and you see it's a size that did not work for you but ...hey it's on its way! lol BUT anyhooo...it's scary that we think so much alike and meanwhile I am thinking of rings for 2021...just sayin. Cuz they haven't worked for me since the 80's BUT...I'm optimistic since I bought a FILOFAX on another late-night delirious spending spree...OK, I need to watch the rest of your video now. You know I love you!

Try MoxieandOliver on Etsy . I just ordered from them . I keep jumping around planners but I feel A5 and B6 are my go to sizes but I use a Standard for health/appointments

I love Stalogy and I don't find it flimsy it's a workhorse. But I had to get rid of the A6 - so cute but I couldn't do what I needed it for in that size. So I'm in the B6 which I love.

if I had time to use 10, I would... A6 feels like a Dear Diary to me no matter which notebook it is.

I started the year with 12 planners and ended up in a b6 Stalogy bujo which I have now abandoned for my A5 Hobonichi Avec! I must be channeling my inner Sylvia! Ha ha ha! I certainly cannot plan in an A6 size although I am using one as a food diary and that’s working pretty well;)

I agree with the Stalogy as a dear dairy. I actually use mine that way.

I jump in and out of planners too. I never get rid of any and typically buy the same ones each year so I can dip in and out of them.

I was exactly like you with the stalogy. Waited 2 yrs until I got mine. I cannot use A6. I’m too long winded 😆. I went with an A5 for strictly dailies to go with my A5 Webster’s pages rings. My stalogy I carry with me as I can make many notes for work during the day and use the monthly and weekly in my WP for everything else. I adore this system. But A6 is way too tiny for me.

The Stalogy has never appealed to me either, and I have a few friends that love it. I don't know what it is...maybe the flimsy cover, necessitating an outside cover? Who knows? But like you, personal size- in a TN or rings- lures me in now and then and I always have to scratch that itch. I'm doing an A5 bullet journal (in a Dingbats notebook) for OBJ. Funny enough, I've bullet journalled a lot, but never in an A5!

Stalogy notebooks do not feel like a planner to me either. I use mine specially for journaling.
