Romano Solano double bass built in 2008, David Herman (Jira) Baroque bass bow, entire Suite performed in D using solo strings with 1/2 step scordatura.

I feel discouraged watching videos like this. The sound is so Cello like in sweetness it's amazing. It is my fantasy to play Bach on the bass.

Is the bass tuned up a whole tone or is it tuned in standard tuning? Beautiful playing...

sounds incredible. What microphone did you use? I know the sound is 99% the bass player and not the equipment, but I have been looking for such a mic

I play this on the cello and I really think it's Made for the bass because of the singing quality that is needed. The bass has this across all all 4 strings but the cello can't produce same type of timbre on the a string
