Lewis Hamilton and Formula 1 have condemned former world champion Nelson Piquet for using a racial slur against him in an interview.

Last year, following Hamilton’s controversial win at the British Grand Prix, the 69-year-old Brazilian used a slur when discussing Hamilton on a podcast. The slur, according to the Guardian, “can be translated as the N-word.” The podcast has made it to the public this week.

Piquet is closely related to the controversy at the 2021 British GP. Max Verstappen, who was the victim of a racing incident with Hamilton that put him into the wall, is dating Piquet’s daughter Kelly.

The FIA should give Piquet a lifetime ban from all FIA events. What he said was obviously totally unacceptable. Some people live in the 17th century not the 21st.

Can someone explain why this took months to discover? Like i would assume the day Piquet said this everyone would have noticed.

Pity Piquet doesn’t have a go at his potential son in law about his dirty driving!

The word Piquet used is not the N word.
It's tiring that nowadays we try to transpose everything in the context of the western society.

If you really want to push it, it's probably overly descriptive but again it's culturally very acceptable in Brazil and very contextual. Like all things. Let me tell you that In the context of the interview it was clearly not offensive. Words have layers and one need to understand the depth of a language before acting offended.

2- Hamilton is shaming F1 figures for being “old” because he thinks one of them was shaming him for being African-British.

3- Hamilton wants to force the issue and put the USA against Brazil. He amplifies his issues to dangerous scales.

4- Hamilton mentions real “action” about 5 times which might bring to memory actions like looting Nike shoes.

5- Hamilton is promoting cancel-culture and firing Juri Vips is a start.

7- Hamilton points that NOBODIES like Sir Jackie Stewart and Bernie Ecclestone are trying to bring him down EVERYDAY, only because they’re demented and old, according to Hamilton.

8- Hamilton wants F1 teams-and-companies to kneel for him during national anthems. He also puts some pressure on them to talk about topics he chooses in official statements and do things for his interest.

9- Hamilton mentions “action” five or more times, (which scares people, who hope that looting is NOT going to be a result of his calls to the community).

10- Hamilton wants to cancel F1 teams as well if they don’t comply with his orders.

11- Hamilton has been amplifying his voice and dividing people for years with his controversies.

12- The discussion was about Hamilton deliberately pit-maneuvering Verstappen and pushing him into the wall at a speed of 200 mph (322 kph) and an impact of g force 51 times greater than the earth gravity.

He called him blackie not the n-word and it is okay in that country because Brazil was another white colonial nation with racialistic hierarchies and he is probably racist not that I have a problem with it but the obvious lies about how Brazil is equal and don't have the n-word is boring.

Interesting and unacceptable if true to the report…….but please see the translation by a Brazilian/Portuguese person……it seems not to be the same……hmmm? Bait for news? Dig further till we know the truth !

Nelson Piquet, yes that guy. the very same guy who did everything to disparage the great Nigel Mansel his team mate at the time. He did the same thing to Senna, he even went as far as to prevent Senna getting a seat with the Brabham team and would later spead rumours that Senna was gay. In 2008 Nelson's DNA would show up in the cockpit of the Renault #2 car ( Nelson Piquet Jr ). Where Junior deliberately crashed during the Singapore Grand Prix to give a sporting advantage to his Renault teammate, Fernando Alonso, who went on to win the race. Ten months later Renault fired Junior and the DNA that flowed in Junior's veins decided that teams ordered crashgate was WRONG and told told the world, the rest is history and crashgate went down as F1's worst scandal. This brought the prospect of Nelly's legacy being enhanced by his son becoming a world champion. In steps Nelly's daughter and puts the prospect of a future world champion back on the table. Yes Kelly Piquet is dating Max verStappen. So if Nelly is being disparaging to Hamilton in defense of Verstappen, he has done this kind of thing before, the evidence is in the DNA.They are dozens of words in english to describe the piquet's clan, so lets leave it at that.

Ah! So the m.s.m as usual love jumping to the racism charge 😲 little black guy is the translation! Hardly cruel or nasty! Maybe a bit silly, but hammy is small and to be fair he never stops talking about being a black man, (as he rightly should be proud) so race your car little dude!😄
