A little HIDDEN feature of your Merida REACTO seatpost LIGHT

Merida likes to add some simple but useful features to its bikes. If we look at the latest generations of Reacto, it is surely a seatpost integrated taillight. Most of Reacto reviews will mention it as a cool feature, but at the same time point to one great con of it. AAA battery power supply. In our modern world, where everything is USB-chargeable, this is a bit outdated, to say the least. But if you are ok to live with this, the light can be your friend. And it has a HIDDEN feature, which you might have missed, even if you own a Reacto. I reveal this feature in this video. BTW Have you ever seen any manual/instruction on this tiny light? I have not.

Is there any aftermarket edition of this lamp, that is brighter than the stock edition?

Come on, this light should have switchable blinking function... complex PCB and electronics only for being able to flash a secondary LED when battery runs low... crazy.

I have no idea, that flashing means battery is running out of power! So the problem is with old batteries, that video was very helpful, thanks!

I use with rechargeable battery- Panasonic or Sanyo and even when they are fully charged, light is in saving enegry mode. Reason is Rechargeable has 1, 2V insted of 1, 5V but it is no problem. It is still enough bright. Sanyo Eneloop BK-4MCCE Ni-MH 750mah last 8 hours and 35 minutes. Ni-MH 1000mah shoud last around 11 hours. edit: Just tested Varta 1000 (1038mah tested by me) goes 11 hours 15 minutes :)
