I see why vykes dragon bolt decreased lighting resistance but man it’s should add more damage. You’re giving yourself the weakness of the dragon and you don’t at least get the damage of one? poor alt saber

In case of blood flame, I think the burn effect also adds bleed, that's why some times it will proc when you don't hit them and they are simply burning

for bloodflame, try useing a ripple crescent halberd or axe. arcane does scale the bleed, but only if your weapon has the scaling.

I highly recommend Bloodflame Blade for Strength builds. Very low Faith requirement and the Clawmark Seal obtained from Garranq scales pretty hefty with Strength as well as Faith which both do impact the Incantation Scaling. So even with minimum Faith requirements it can just be a very solid bonus to any Heavy affinity weapon you may wield.

I used bloodhound fang + bloodflame, because if you hit an enemy, it will start burning, and the flame still increasing the blood loss build up

Vykes Dragonbolt and Flame, grant me strength. Cast vykes first then the flame will add to physical and fire attack while taking away the debuff from vykes Dragonbolt.

Forgot the Cragblade Ash of War. Coats your weapon in stone and increases physical damage as well as poise damage by 10% for 30 seconds

I think with blood flame what u should do is use it with the dragon charm as that scales of arcane which would increase the bleed build up on the weapon and even its self potentially

Vykes dragon bolt sounds like it’s made for strength builds.

One of the problems I have with faith and strength is I find I could always use more poise and defence to hit through certain attacks.

Dragon bolt essentially increases my armour and poise if I don’t mind fat rolling when it’s not activated.
The only gripe I have is there isn’t a lot of anything else going for electric.

Fire has a talisman and like 3 different enchantments with different effects including more damage. Holy damage has a lot of good spells and well suited seals and flat buffs that don’t require scaling.

Electricity has a seal and a talisman and it does more damage in the rain, but that’s kinda it. I mean even some of the really nice Ashe of war weapons with electricity on them don’t even scale with faith.

I would LOVE a prime spell that can coat in enemy in water or a fog cloud, something along those lines of thinking that makes electricity more useful without actually changing how it works.
Because it works just fine as a mechanic but again it just feels a lot more lack luster compared to magic or fire.

Amazing thing about blood flame, you can pair it with other ashes of war.

For instance I was trying the knights great sword with double slice and bloodflame (kinda really good but hard to maintain with the flame and body buff)

But there is a colossal Ashe of war called Sacred Ground.
Lots of great things about this weapon like it’s start up having extremely high poise and that there is 3 points of damage BUT the main thing is that there are about 8 -10 little lights that are produced from the explosion that, after a delay, will track the locked target.

EVERY SINGLE ONE apples bloodflames bleed.

The only problem is that the bleed proc damage doesn’t seem to scale and doesn’t seem like it hits any harder then the smaller weapons when they proc.

One ability and ur procing bleed 100% but the actual Ashe of war itself just scales way better with faith


Oh also note, This can work with black flame as well, including it’s small lights…

I am using the the Scholars Armament for my Spellblade build. And it does around double the damage when equipped. I alway use it before fighting tough enemies.

Bleed, Scarlet Rot, and Frostbite are far too useful to even bother with anything else unless you're intentionally trying to avoid those three. I'm not saying I want those nerfed. On the contrary, I want the others buffed to make me say "which one do I want to use?" without feeling like I'm gimping myself.

I’m sure a lot of people know this by now but just in case, the blood flame blade and many other arcane stuff in the game is glitched at the moment. Just raise awareness in hopes FromSoft fixes it

I prefer nagakiba or uchgatama with unsheath applied with keen affinity, then i use bloodflame, frozen arnament, scholars arnament, and orders blade
