In the spring of this year, when the COVID-19 pandemic had much of the country shut down, Everyday Health launched Boxed In, a series of conversations between the country's top mental health experts, led by Editor in Chief Maureen Connolly. This month we’re proud to continue our conversations with Season 2 of Boxed In.

Season 2 of Boxed In debuts with Andrew Solomon, PhD, professor of clinical medical psychology at Columbia University Medical Center in New York City, discussing the psychological effects of COVID-19 on children. He shares his insights as a parent of school-age children, discussing how they and their peers, through social deprivation, “are showing some symptoms of depression and … quite a lot of symptoms of anxiety.” Joining the conversation is Amanda Jo Bustamante, a school counselor, who discusses the fear, anxiety, and social isolation her students are experiencing during the pandemic.
