💄 In today's video I'm going to be decluttering my ENTIRE minimalist-ish makeup collection. I still own more makeup than I feasibly cam use, so I'm taking today to edit down and curate my collection even more and focus on a project pan to use up what I have.

One of the best things that I did recently after I had a ton of make up accrued was that I actually booked an appointment with a makeup artist who went through my entire collection of make up and she was able to tell me what I had that really wasn’t the best colours For my skin tone and hair and complexion and which makeup products were better for my skin type at this point now that I’m getting older and my skin texture is changing a little bit. She also showed me how to use the products that I had properly in terms of placement and how to start with a basic routine and build up from there if I wanted to go fancier without having to add in additional products. She really paired down my make up to a much more manageable level

I have a minimalist makeup tip that helps curb purchases. I sometime use my lipstick as cheek color. Much easier to match and lipstick becomes multipurpose.

Still working on my buying habits when it comes to makeup but I try to pay attention to textures and look at my stash first. I used to also be afraid of expiration dates so I’d replace powder products right away, now I try to extend them by cleaning them often with makeup sanitizer and just checking before use. Great video!

One in, one out. I have one of everything, even lip products (one lipstick, one tinted balm, one clear gloss). I used to have a massive collection but I found I was only using my favourite items so I gave away what I wasn’t using. It’s so much easier to do my makeup now.

Not that this format wasn't great but I like when you put them category by category on the table together and then you declutter. I think the visuals of all of it together is better. So it's like you see how many in one category like 4 eyeshadows, 3 mascaras lol. The flat lay makes me feel happier lol. But still adore you.

To sufficiently declutter, I need to shake the feeling of guilt. I am not wealthy, yet I used overconsumption of makeup products in the past for instant gratification when I was feeling sad or stressed. Sometimes I had to skip dinner to afford these purchases, so now it saddens me to just throw them away, even if they are collecting dust.

Fantastic timing -- I hit 2 pans this morning! I tend to buy products I want while they're on sale and store them as backups until I need them, but I try to not have more than 2 backups at a time (like 2 mascaras, for example.) I feel like I've really hit my stride with my makeup this year, so it's easier to avoid and declutter what's not my vibe. I haven't found favorites in some categories so that's where I'm struggling most right now.

I tend to stick with powder products because they have a much longer shelf life. The exception, of course, is lip products, but I wear those more, so I don't have them long enough for them to spoil. This was a departure from your usual videos, but I really enjoyed it! ❤

I’m a big fan of the Lancôme lash idole mascara, gives just the right amount of curling, lengthening and light thickening of lashes, plus never had any issues with transfer.

For the charlotte tilbury product you can wipe it with some nail polish remover, the letters will come right off. Hope that helps.
