The US is doubling down on its controversial deportation and imprisonment scheme with El Salvador despite legal challenges over the labeling of detainees as gang members without evidence. In the case of Franco Caraballo, a 26-year-old Venezuelan barber, his lawyer says he was jailed for his tattoos.

Gangs would only allow their own members to have certain tattoos. That’s how gangs can identify friends from foes and take appropriate actions.

Gangs use particular tattoos to identify themselves, so not everyone who has tattoos would be arrested. As a matter of fact, most, if not all, law enforcement agencies have a catalog of gang tattoos that allow the police to recognize which gang they are dealing with.

Even if we get a few wrong. The overall benefit is still worth it. Sucks to be even a little bit associated with them. Better reevaluate your life. We don't need those values here. Not even worth the chance of the possible reformed one in the crowd. No thanks.
