In this Final Fantasy XIV video, I give my advice for prepping for the Dancer job that will be introduced in the expansion Shadowbringers (Patch 5.0) that releases 2 July 2019. My experience of MMO's over the last 15 years+ has fine-tuned how I prepare for upcoming expansions.

My dancer advice is as follows:
1) Buy Shire gear from Hismena in Idyllshire which is currently used by Bard or Machinist.
2) Upgrade it to item level 270 by using the upgrade items.
3) Get the other items ready needed for the item level 270 weapon.
4) Get a second ring by doing the quest Unidentified Flying Object in Dun Scaith.
5) Use the Aetheryte Earring for the 30% boost to exp from 60 to 70 if you have it. You get it by pre-ordering Shadowbringers.

My general expansion advice is as follows:
1) Level all your classes to the limit that you would want to play even higher in the expansion when the level cap increases.
2) Finish the beast tribes in case they add more.
3) Do all the Primals/Raids you may want to do while it's still relevant.
4) Complete all the story quests, but also take your time, read the quest text and enjoy all of the cutscenes.
5) Think about what will help you in the long term even after the expansion releases.
6) Do world quests that are dotted around the world map for extra EXP.
7) Uncover the entire world map in each zone for the bonus EXP.
8) Finish unlocking flying in all zones, you can refer to my Aether Current guides if needed.

I usually upgrade one ring and then buy the original ring which can be equipped with the upgraded one. Sure you have one item that's slightly lower but your about to level past it anyway.

I have all bard shire gear at 270 I might as well get ninja stuff just in case

I am keeping my level 60 BRD mch and nin gear and accessories just in case. I think they will give 270 gear for the dancer but it doesn’t hurt to be prepared.

I only got the shire accesories cause we are probably going to get some kind of left side gear.

If the starter gear was like RDM or SAM then it should be just as good or better than that gear

I know he had his heart set on Dancer being a healer, but there is always this Songstress healer that I hear in the rumor mill. It's not a great loss as Eureka Pyros gave my Samurai cure and rezz abilities so they might have healer abilities useable by everyone at some point in time. We shall see. Cheers Mithrie!

Well if you got both BRD/MCH, and NIN at 70, i'd suggest instead of buying BRD gear, buy the upgrade twinces/coats. the tomestone, 10 tickets, and keep you poetics maxed on patchday.
Nothign worse then having wasted the tomes on the wrong items and having t obuy another set of gear. For all we know, DNC could evn use MNK/SAM gear.
On the other hand, i will save my tomes to immidiatly equip all my 70 with ilvl 400 because all those items will be changed to poetics, and prices will most likely drop as well, considering they did that for all the 60 gear in SB, and loweed prices for ARR gear in HW.

Also max out Centurio seals, while you're at it. Theres bound to be some great stuff, and having 1000 seals as a headstart will be nice :)
