7 INTERRAIL TIPS! 🌏 Follow these tips and you’ll have no trouble train traveling around Europe! 🫶🏻

1. Book hostels close to stations 🏨
Always check the location before booking a hostel. You don’t want to arrive in a city after a long trainride and then having to figure out how to get to your hostel.

2. Always have a water bottle with you💧
Make sure to get one of those refillable bottles before you leave. You don’t want to travel without water.

3. Some trains require reservations 🚆
Soms highspeed trains still require you to reserve a seat. You can reserve your seats in the interrail app.

4. Buy your Interrail pass with a discount 🪪
Usually at the end of the month Interrail puts discounts on their passss. Make use of this. Just be patient with buying.

5. Free walking tours are amazing 🚩
Free walking tours are without a doubt the best way to go about exploring a city. You’ll also meet a lot of fellow travelers on these kind of tours! Just google free walking tour [in any city].

6. Always have cash on you 💵
Especially when you’re traveling east in Europe, some countries still prefer you paying in cash. Always have the currency of the country you’re in on you!

7. Explore during the morning 🌅
When I went to Rome I decided to wake up at 4AM to explore at 5AM. I had the entire city to myself, I could take photos of everything without other people in it.

Let me know about your interrail experiences or what’s stopping you from going! 👇🏻

When the summer of 2025 comes around im going interrailing. I hopefully will have passed the final exams so i have a long vacation afterwards. I have always loved being out and about with little to no solid plans so im really looking forward to it.

Take travel insurance❗️(which also covers train journeys) if you are stranded somewhere due to disruption, you always have help available) it will cost you a few bucks, but it will give you peace of mind. and a backup phone (€15) is also useful. last tip, wear a good vest so you can sleep well on the train. have fun 🫡

These are really good tips! Especially booking accommodations close to the station. I've made the mistake of wanting to stay close to the center. But it's so much easier to walk or take public transport into the city center when you're not carrying all your luggage! And going back to the station on your next travel day is also much less of a hassle when your accommodation is close by. And most of the time, central stations are located relatively central anyway, so you're never too far out of the city center anyway.
