There’s much more than “frustration” to consider. There’s the expense of relocating, the loss of revenue from her previous job, the loss of health benefits. This is a big deal.

Ole bait and switch. I hope she wins a million dollars in damages.

It's things like this that made me accept 2 full time job offers even if I could only do one. I was paranoid that one of my job offers (or maybe both) would end up like what happened here. When I knew that both offers were 100 percent secure, I decided to go with the one with the higher salary. I had no choice to tell the other company that I will not be moving forward with them. I wasn't proud of what I did, but there's a very bad combination of things happening in the job market and the economy.

moving to houston from California to start a new $100k-180K career is a huge upgrade due to cost of living. Texas children's obviously pulled the rug on an offer letter which is a terrible business practice. I hope my fellow PA gets all her money!!!! All her coin!!!

Why hire people from out of state when we have people here in Texas.

PAs are in great demand, there are many places in TX a PA can find work, she can recover, Dallas is where I'd go

Just gives you some idea of what goes on behind closed doors! They have obviously gotten away with this kind of behavior before. I hope this woman gets justice, and I believe she will.

TCH just fired their most senior therapists/ nurse and other positions at all their campuses to save money. Quality of care will be affected. How do you replace 20 years of specialty experience? You don't. Patients are the real losers in this recent cut.

Welcome to Houston! With all the murders, rampant crime, flooding, electrical outages, heat, stifling humidity, constant city politics infighting, reevaluate your choices, it may be a blessing in disguise!

Who sells their home and moves to another state solely for a "job offer" before hiring. I also moved to another state for a government job and it could not be rescinded since I accepted the job offer and was hired as an employee BEFORE moving after the background investigation, physical and approved onboarding documentation were all completed and approved.

I think there is probably more to this story than she is telling.

And a day later, TGH laid off 5% of their workforce. Get your lawsuit $$ ASAP.

You don’t do this to people. This is so wrong! I hope she sues them into oblivion. There needs to be consequences for doing this to someone.

While I do feel bad for her, even if she had a contract, Texas is an at will state. While the law is on the side of Texas Children's, to avoid further news cycles and minimize monetary loss, they will settle. The attorneys know this. This will only end up increasing the burden on Texas Children's patient's families.
An "at-will state" refers to a state where the default employment relationship allows either the employer or the employee to terminate employment at any time, for any reason, without legal consequences. This model is prevalent in all U.S. states except Montana, where employers must have a valid reason for termination after a probationary period.

Im so sorry to hear about this! I'm also not a fan of Texas Children's Hospital. Im sure that after she takes care of this, she will be able to find a PA position here in Houston

If it was in the contract that was signed then yes there's something here. No contract no deal.
