A general pastel vs colour pencil query. Do you find pastels very dusty to work with for people with allergies or chest issues, would it be advisable to stick to colour pencil and to merely admire your pastel paintings?

Just absolutely beautiful! I am itching to try the velour board for a project, I ordered the large one hoping that I could maybe make 2 paintings on it. It amazes me how much pastel it can hold. Is it ok to use a fixative afterwards like Spectrafix Degas Final fix?

How do you handle the dust that gets kicked up when using velour? I love the paper, but I feel like I'm choking whenever I use it.
