In this video I'm showing you how to stamp a concrete patio slab. The pattern we're using on this patio is random stone. The concrete had dark grey integral color mixed in with it and we're broadcasting a charcoal release powder on the surface to add an antiquing color effect.
Stamping a concrete patio takes a little knowledge and experience pouring and stamping concrete to make sure you do everything right. My Stamped Concrete Course below shows you all the steps and techniques it takes to stamp concrete. I've been stamping concrete for over 30 years now. When I first learned it was from someone else who did stamped concrete. If you're looking for some stamped concrete training, check out the course, leave me a comment or ask me any question you may have.

Mike on a RV garage in the planning stage -- What would be a good unit to use for "slope to drain" from back of the garage to the doors? I did a google search using the terms "garage floor slope degree?" and it came up with anywhere between an 1/8" per foot to a 1/2" per foot. At 34 feet of run at 1/2" per foot that would be 17 INCHES from back to front? That seems pretty extreme to me? Especially since I am thinking of having a 16" concrete "stem wall" above the floor for the 12 foot walls to sit on.

What is the percentage increase per square foot for stamped concrete versus regular broom finish? Good work!

How do you know when the concrete is setup/firm enough to stamp?

At the WOC this year, did you see any demonstrations on stamp-crete? Not those bs ones they do in those sandboxes at their indoor booths, but real ones outside, with real concrete. What about new tools or techniques for stamp-crete? Any thing new there?

Online a $20.00 box of N-95 masks is $60.00 because of the Coronavirus, if you can find them in stock.

Another great video Mike! I'm in the market to buy stamps this year. Not decided on the design, but thought about just getting the slate skins. You go into great detail when you explain what you're doing. Excellent teacher. Thanks!

Best concrete YouTube channel! I wish I could work for you. Your team is a cohesive efficient unit. You don't see a calm approach to concrete much. It's always people yelling and running around like chickens with there heads cut off. Yelling at workers for no reason. At least from my work experience in the field anyways...Thanks for the content Mike! Always top notch. 👌🇨🇦

Mike could you please recommend a sprayer that works well for solvent based sealer with 30% solids?

your concrete work is great, I do this also in canada, when I get easy accessible jobs like those you share, its gravy for me, but I usually find myself having horrible access to the pour area and have to make a new access plan every job. ugh! I get it done but its a pain in the ass. do you video any of these types of pours?

I am delighted to start watching your channel! I wanted to learn from you, it’s a pity that Russia still hasn’t found such materials and tools!))))

As owner you should have made sure they had ALL the correct safety gear. When they get cancer are you going to stand behind them? I bet not.

Great video like always Mike. I've been stamping for about 20 years, but still picked up alot of tips from your stamp course. Thanks for putting it together and I look forward to the next course. The tips/tricks you can learn will help set your work apart from the other guys, so we are always interested in learning! Well worth the money.

We like to use a few different colors of powdered flashing and work it into the concrete to get the marbling effect, liquid release is a little easier to work with (smells like bubble gum) and use texture skins which are a little more forgiving. To avoid foot prints in the concrete when we first start stamping, we will go around the edges and work our way in. Aside from the strap on shoes, they make a large diameter tamper that’s a little easier on the stamps and allows you to work a little faster. Great job with the channel!
