How to lock, hide, and unhide an app on iPhone or iPad | Apple Support

Starting in iOS 18 and iPadOS 18, you can lock or hide apps to require Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode for access and get peace of mind that your information, such as app notifications and content, will not be inadvertently viewed by others while using your device. You can also easily unlock and unhide the app again when you’re ready.

I like the feature and all, but I feel like to make it a little more secure they should set it up with a different passcode and not the one that’s the same as your phone for a little more security, especially if you’re somebody who likes to lock certain applications like banking applications

But wouldn't the presence of the Hidden Apps folder on the App Library *compromise* the "hidden" part of the app?

Is there a way of hiding or unhiding the folder from the App Library?

*just a personal take, my little cousins tend to borrow my iPhone often and they might see this Hidden Folder, rendering it pointless 😅

Does it require FaceID to approve ‘Don’t require FaceID’? Because then anybody can disable the lock app feature.

This feature is nice, but unfortunately it's pretty easy to find out which app or if the app is installed, even if you have it hidden.
