" One day I witnessed a very mysterious story. I was sent to work on a business trip to the east for 3 months. The trip began with the fact that I walked down a long corridor with two suitcases, then went into a train compartment, my companion was an elegant middle-aged lady. She sat and curiously read the book, carefully peering at the pages. I said hello, but she did not even attach any importance to this, and continued to read the book. At first she did not even notice my presence, and only after a while, as if mentally returned to the compartment, then she looked around, and seeing me opposite, abruptly put the book down and spoke. "Hello sir, I'm sorry, I was too immersed in the book and did not even notice your appearance. Let me introduce myself, my name is Abigail Green" and she extended her hand, of course I also extended my hand to her and introduced myself. We got to talking, and as it turned out, Abigail was a very interesting and difficult woman. She was very mysterious, and her eyes indicated that she had something to tell. When communicating with her, it seemed that this trip in this train car was very important for her. As it turned out later, I was right. We talked for a long time with her on completely different topics, a blizzard was raging outside the car window, and the sound of train wheels reminded me of itself every second. And so, in this long conversation, she accidentally said something that no one should have known: "... you know, William, I will reveal to you a secret, everything that surrounds you and what you see is not always true. And vice versa, those things that seem impossible, absurd or unimaginable to us are often the truth. You only see what you are shown, and what you do not need to see and know is simply hidden from you. " - "Abigail, what do you mean?" I replied. And then her words seemed to pierce me with lightning: “Well, for example, the fact that the driver of this train did not get enough sleep yesterday, since his daughter was born the other day. As a result, after 18 minutes he will not notice that the rails were covered with snow. Nothing serious, just a small avalanche came down on the rails. The driver will not have time to stop in time, and the train will run into a snowdrift. Nothing terrible will happen, the train will remain on the rails, and after a few hours of work on clearing the track, it will go again. That is why I am here. How do you like this story?" Then she smiled. I did not know what to say, because I thought that the lady was crazy and talking nonsense. I felt a little creepy from what was said, I unconsciously looked at the clock, it was 10:38 pm. Then mentally added 18 minutes. "Didn't you like this story, mister? Did I upset you? I understand that what I said can drive you crazy, but I just couldn't help myself and decided to give you a vivid example of how little we know about this world." I was silent and did not know what to say. I glanced at my watch again, it was 10:54 p.m., my heart rate was racing and there were small drops of sweat on my forehead, I was tense to say the least. Exactly 2 minutes later, the train began to brake sharply, there was a piercing creak of wheels and brake pads, after which the car shook a little and the train stopped. To say that I was shocked is an understatement. I was tormented by two questions, how can this be, and who is Abigail? I continued to sit on the seat as my legs were wobbly. I was so scared that I could not walk now even if I wanted to. Then I looked at Abigail, who was also staring at me with a touch of irony. A slight smile did not leave her face. Then she got up, took her things, a book, a bag and a scarf, and said: "Bye William, this is my stop, now you have something to think about. And here's another thing, think about what the train driver named his daughter?" After which she laughed, waved her hand, and headed for the exit of the train car. I was discouraged. After 2 hours and forty minutes, the train started again and drove off. That night I didn't sleep. This story taught me to relate to life and what is happening around me in a completely different way. "
