Once you heat up the sticky floor tile, hold the heat gun just in front of your 5 in 1 tool and they'll be up in about 20 seconds. It works great!

A cheap steam iron works too. Just let it sit on the tiles for a bit and scape it up.

Wow what a difference. I was trying it the old way with a hammer and chisel.

That's a good way. But what I've found easier is pulling it all off as much as ya can. Then setting down the sticky part. Letting it soak then scraping it off.

Be aware that a lot of so-called heat guns are nowhere near their stated temperature(s). Two different mfr's heat guns failed to get any higher than 90 degrees Fahrenheit (I have an infrared temperature gun, which is accurate within 1 degree). They probably figure that hardly anyone tests them. If you were within bare inches with a heat gun, it should have smoked the vinyl tile, if not the underlying adhesive, within seconds at anywhere above 200 deg F. Also, you won't get all the adhesive off the floor. You need a degreaser for that (don't use WD-40 or kerosene or similar, because they will leave a different kind of mess, and slippery, too!).

But then you're left with sticky glue on the floor. How do you get that off?
