The bird (Emu “ Karen “) is basically a “ rescue” animal. As they all are. When an animal( or person for that matter) is traumatized constantly there will be damage done. If she really wanted to do serious damage to Amanda, she could in a heartbeat. Amanda stops her with a raised arm, + then pets her so Karen is being met with kindness. Kudos to Amanda!
