Uh no they weren’t. The first national park ranger was a white dude name Harry Yount, a civil war veteran, trapper, prospector, and mountain man. He was the first game warden and park ranger of Yellowstone National Park, and know as “the father of the ranger service, as well as the first national park ranger”.
