Fire destroys 30m yacht Ramonda in Portonovi, Montenegro

The 29.63-metre Azimut motor yacht Ramonda was destroyed in a yacht fire while anchored in the Portonovi resort marina, Montenegro. The fire broke out around 18:00 on 27 March 2025, leaving the vessel damaged beyond repair, according to local news outlets.
On Thursday evening, members of the Herceg Novi Protection and Rescue Service rushed to the scene with two trucks, to find that the flames had already made their way into Ramonda’s interior living areas. At the date of publication, no injuries have been reported.
Once they arrived on the scene, the team tried to mitigate the fire from several angles. However, failing to localise the fire, they transported the yacht out of the marina in order to extinguish her flames while at sea. It was determined that she could not be salvaged and the yacht was left to burn to the waterline and sink.
Herceg Novi Protection and Rescue Service commander Zlatko Ćirović asserts that the 8,000 litres of oil onboard the burning yacht pose an ecological risk. In an attempt to prevent environmental damage, dams have been installed to block oil spills into the surrounding sea.
