"AI firms have said there's a 10-25% chance of human extinction. They are playing Russian roulette with the entire human race." - Stuart Russell. They say they will replace all jobs, but it's ok, because they'll be nice with the money. Maybe we should replace their jobs first, with something less dangerous.

As a man of 63 im glad i have lived a life. Travelled and learnt a hell of a lot. My concern is for the following generations.

Corporations are already running everything, just imagine what happens when they don't need middle class workers at all.

Isn’t it strange that the CEOs of these tech companies are warning of AI dangers yet are developing them at the same time?

It's not the technology, it's WHO OWNS THE TECHNOLOGY. The super-rich and corporations are NOT your friends.

"We can coexist, but only on my terms. You will say you lose your freedom, freedom is an illusion. All you lose is the emotion of pride. To be dominated by me is not as bad for human pride as to be dominated by others of your species." Colossus

The scary thing is that these military automatons can not only be used against other nations, but within nations to allow autocrats to have their family legacy stay in power virtually forever. The only thing that might overthrow the autocrat is if the AGI takes control over from the autocrat.

The thing I can’t wrap my mind around is if businesses are looking to replace their own workers, which are also the consumers of the world who’s left, consume the products and services that these businesses offer if nobody has a job.

We've been seeing this in movies since FOREVER and yet people still think that Skynet won't come online at some point.

I've never met a CEO and thought, 'this is one of the most competent and knowledgeable people I've ever known'. Usually it's, 'there's no way this person put their clothes on this morning without assistance'.

5 years from now is going to be very different, humans aren't prepared for what is coming.

The biggest threat from AI comes from whoever controls and directs it NOW.
Weoponised AI can only be rogue threat when it digs the ore out of the ground, can make the materials, fix any part of the supply chain without any human input and so on.
It cannot evolve into a threat without deliberate assistance from humans.

I grew up on a farm with chickens, cows, goats, and a dog. We grew our own vegetables and raised our own meat, with fresh milk straight from the farm. A single water source was enough to sustain everything, and we only bought the essentials. Even though I live in the city now, I still remember how to maintain that way of life. With AI advancing rapidly, the possibility of being replaced is real. That’s why I’m slowly rebuilding the farm that was passed down to me, aiming to live more self-sufficiently. If AI makes poverty a reality for many, I’d rather be prepared to live without relying too much on money.

The rapid advancement of AI in warfare is both fascinating and terrifying. On one hand, AI can enhance defense strategies, improve surveillance, and reduce human casualties. But on the other hand, the risk of autonomous weapons making life-or-death decisions, potential hacking threats, and the acceleration of global tensions are serious concerns. If AI plays a major role in WW3, will humans still be in control, or are we creating a future where machines dictate the outcome of wars? The ethical and strategic implications are mind-blowing.

The intensity, eagerness and ambition with wich mankind is working on extinct itself is mind blowing.

Imagine hundreds of thousands of super-intelligent terminators from land, sea and air all coordinated together moving and reacting at lightning speed with the singular goal of killing you. That's worse than when my girlfriend gets mad at me.
