Seriously, is there anybody who does not like Danny? This is a great interview. You can tell he's speaking out of love and from the heart about Andy.

Andy broke the fourth wall, not of the film set but of life.

This interview was 16 years after Andy died. Can you believe it's been 18 years since this interview? Crazy

Danny, hit it on the head. Andy wasn't a comedian, I rarely laughed out loud at his stuff...but as a performance artist he was an absolute genius. Unparalleled and unsurpassed to this day. Thanks Andy.

I drove for a cab company on the west side of manhattan in the 70's. We had characters just like the TV show Taxi, including a "Starter" who was a short bald headed man who towered over us behind a glass window in an elevated booth just like louie. You had to "shape up" which meant you had to wait a few hours for an available cab, so there were all sorts of characters sitting around for several hours a day. I was floored by the TV show - it was so true to life for me.

Can’t remember the last time I watched a whole 30 minute interview without pausing it. Well done!

Had tears in my eyes several times. Wish they had three hours to talk about Andy. Love how his art shaped people's minds in a more human direction - so sad he didn’t have the chance to continue that for a few more decades. But I’m grateful to pass on his art to my kids and grandkids to keep his legacy alive.

Absolutely entertaining. Taxi.
Man On The Moon. Wonderful.
We had a tuff life in the 70's. We all knew to be quiet when Taxi was on.
My Dad laughed until he cried😂❤

When he says, "Andy came to the set or Tony, not Jim." To fully appreciate that you would have to see "Jim and Andy" the documentary on how much Jim went into Andy. He came as Andy for everyone there, the cast, crew, anyone that knew Andy and wanted to meet him. Andy's daughter that never met her father.

Sometime during the mid 1970's I saw Andy at a small club on Long Island named My Father's Place. The reaction John Belushi described to Danny is the same reaction the audience had at that club. For a while, no one was sure if Andy was putting us on or if he was really that awkward foreign guy. Right at the moment when everyone was convinced that what Andy needed was a to be given the hook, he did his Elvis impersonation and the audience reacted the same way in which the scene is portrayed in Man On The Moon. That night, Andy was the opening act for a popular musician and he made such an impression that he was the only thing anyone could talk about at the end of the night. I cannot recall who the main act was!

If there's a Nobel Peace Prize for comedy then Andy, Danny & Jim should share it!!! What a brilliant interview full of joy & pathos!!👍✌️

What a fantastic interview and isn't it wonderfully sadly sweet to see how emotional Danny is when talking about his friend.

Great interview. I went and saw Andy Kaufman at the Improv so many times. Very strange...wouldn’t talk to anyone else at the bar. All his performances were so offbeat. Also saw Freddie Prinze and Jimmy JJ Walker there.. fun times.
