Yusif Eyvazov: Puccini's 'Non piangere, Liù' from Turandot

International opera superstar Anna Netrebko comes to The Greene Space for an exclusive interview and performance to celebrate the release of her new solo recording, Verismo.

Joined by tenor Yusif Eyvazov in their first joint New York City appearance, the soprano illuminates the stylistic and psychological complexities of verismo with her own special intensity and powers of expression. Ms. Netrebko and Mr. Eyvazov will be accompanied by pianist and artistic director of Juilliard's Marcus Institute, Brian Zeger.

He sounds like an awful parody. Disastrous tone of the voice and horrendous phrasing and technique. And pitchy! His acting is fake as well. He must have some contract with Anna, maybe officially she is his producer/manager and she has some money back for his concerts. But why she makes everyone in the world to listen to such a horrible tenor on the best stages and in main roles! He doesn't deserve it, such a shame!

Wether you want it or not, he has learned the basics of singing technique and he is able to sing legato. But nothing beyond. The voice is not finalized imho.

The only reason why this singer with no talent whatsoever get good contracts with Opera Houses all over the world is because he is married to the most commercial Soprano of our time . He cannot sing well, but he married well...

Wow, I can’t believe all the mean comments. I have seen him live a few times and he is a wonderful artist. People are so unforgiving on the Internet. Opera is an incredible art form and the voice is a living, breathing instrument. Everyone’s voice is completely different and it’s not fair to compare opera singers to each other. Opera singers are like snowflakes. I agree that he has an interesting voice and it takes a little while to get used to. Frankly, I have seen him live a few times where he was singing very heavy operatic roles and he sings with ease and without fatigue. This is the true mark of good technique. I think it is bullshit for people to say he is riding on the coattails of Anna Netrebko. He had made a name for himself before they started singing together. He, of course, did not make a name as big as hers but he had already sung in some big houses. I also think he does remarkably well considering his wife is so famous. I’m sure he knows that people wonder if his talent is authentic or not
