Today we are taking a look at the new ARRMA Fury 2wd and ARRMA Vorteks 2WD!

Two brand new budget trucks from ARRMA which could be the ultimate beginner/newcomer friendly RC trucks!

But do they live up to the hype or are there better options out there?

I do have two concerns which I cover in the video!

I wanted a powerful 2wd 1/10 scale but wasn’t wanting a slash or TA so I converted my brushed Vortek into a 3s beast. I mirrored the other 3s system in my brushless 4we Vortek. Added a 4mm motor fan that fits perfectly in the chassis. Running a 15T pinion and 61T steel slipper gear. It’s a monster. I’ll tag you in the video.! Thanks for your help and interaction with your subscribers!

I bought a Gorgon for my 3yr old he loves it & that's all the power he needs on the lowest setting just wanted something half decent as most "toy shop" toys now are so rubbish.

It's interesting to see that the vehicles seem twice as fast when bashing about on the off-road course. I just picked up the Fury and I can't wait to take out!

I think is someone is getting in the hobby and wants more value for the money the MJX 10208 is a great deal i got mine on Ali for $165 USD around $200 with 2 hardcase 4s Lipo, a beginner will hardly break a part on it, just turn the speed down and when you get used to handling and throttle put it at 100% and have a lot of fun. Then you can tune the esc, get better shocks, wheels and tune the car as you like.

I personally still like brushed systems and nimh batteries! 😄 Simple, old school and cheaper to fix/replace, I mainly rock crawl by the way.. I dont want to be waiting ages for a lipo to storage charge after a short run. But obviously do understand the advantages of more modern tech too 👍 thanks for the video dude

The MJX Hyper-Go is the way to go. I have both versions and have yet to lunch out anything. These trucks are brutally tough. ... I turned an ARRMA Granite Voltage into a 2WD 3S brushless monster. I've had no problems with the differential; however, I highly recommend beefing up the suspension. BTW, it's almost the same chassis. Cheers, Ricky!

These are an ideal way for a new starter, or someone coming back into the hobby, and a good alternative to going down the cheap Chinese route.

They can both be upgraded, so a great place to start. 👍🏻

Hey Ricky, I love the Werewolf. It's working great. I just want to let you know, if you look at the chassis on all of the cars you'll notice that they are slightly different. The Gorgon has more ground clearance. I wonder if you can mix and match parts. That would be really cool. I think these new chassis and body mounts are very innovative. I can't wait to see what they come up with next. As always, love the videos. Cheers!

The fury is what my 3 yr old needs. He can control a car well enough, and he wants to go out bashing with the boys, but I don't want to give him my more powerful cars. At 22 mph, I can't see him doing too much damage in a field or gravel pit where we go.

Not a big fan of 2wd and brushed motors but I agree this is a good start for beginners…

I am a total beginner and bought the Arrma Fury today at the local hobby shop. On day one, 50% power is plenty fast for me. I tried 100%, but I'm not confident enough yet to use that setting all the time. It is quite fast. Using the stock NiMH 3300MAh battery I got about 25 minutes of run time (using 50% power setting most of the time). The battery takes over 2 hours to charge with a 60W charger, but I didn't time it exactly. I could see how having a second NiMH battery, or a large LiPO, would keep the fun going. It did not handle grass very well. However, paved roads and dirt were fine. Maybe there is a way to help it clear taller grass better.

Some of the documentation was not very beginner friendly, though the important parts walked through things step by step. The more technical items were confusing. I don't know what any of the terms mean, why I'd adjust anything, or what I can really do. I hope someone will take the Fury and make a bunch of videos aimed at beginners. I'd love some advice on affordable improvements to make, how to do the lubrication of the motor (recommended by Arrma), and handle some of the other common maintenance tasks.

At this point, MJX and Haiboxing RC cars and trucks are the best options for beginners imo. They’re accessible from Amazon, CHEAP(er), and parts for them are available. You’ll know whether or not you’ll want to buy the more expensive, “higher” quality RCs after driving those around for a little bit and if not, well, you’re only out a maybe $200 max. Some Haiboxing RCs are under $100.

I like how durable they are and wouldn't mind building a brushless lcg Gorgon like Do Rc did but I agree the price is kind of meh for the speeds. Great video!

These are a great move by Arrma. More affordable entry level RCs you can upgrade later on if you're on a limited budget 👍

Why thay can't provide a basic 2/3s hobbywing system+card and 2s lipo? It can be clearly explained what is every setting and the risk of running 3s or max punch. People will not need to eventually upgrade or get new motor once the brushed dies... and have an electronic that can virtually last forever + put some.metal gear brushless servo to get the top combination of almost infinite lifespan.

Always invest the most you can from the start to avoid disappointment. Nothing is worse than spending your cash twice because you bought a slow slug you outgrow slow cars very fast.

Another good review vid, i love both these new arrmas but also agree that with the extra money needed to upgrade to brushless are they good enough to sway towards them as most people will want to go brushless. Im also really looking forward to ftx's new crossbow. Will you be getting that on your channel and how do you think theae would compare to that? 👍🏻
