Maximize the effectiveness of your letter-sound instruction with the use of embedded mnemonics! Show this enjoyable animation to reinforce the phoneme-grapheme relationship of the letter a and its short vowel sound.
Recite the following alliterative statement before, during, or after the video:
"Alex the alligator had an apple."
At the end of the video, your students will see a visual support of what their mouths should be doing while forming the sound of the letter. During this 3-second portion of the video, you may have your students repeat the letter sound 3 times.
