servitors aren't mindless, in fact many of them are still sentient and some even retain a few core memories, it is also possible under certain conditions to give them back some of their original memories (a good example would be the priest of mars books)

Reminder that sometimes the Control Wafers or other components of servitors fail, and they go rogue. Bands of feral servitors cutting open power lines to steal electricity (or other forms of scavenging) to keep themselves alive are considered a minor nuisance on forge worlds. Skiitari or Knights periodically get sent out to cull them. So even worse than becoming an emotionless servitor (who at least doesn't care about anything), you could be the one in 10, 000 servitors who gets defective chips.

If I recall correctly there's a cast of people in 40K that are called tech thralls, and they are basically people who have been heavily augmented and don't really have nearly as much as the right to say no to augmentations for their job. Although at the very least they don't lobotomize them and they allow them in most cases to not be ""enhanced"" enough to where they can do things like walk around and eat food.

Back in the 90s I remember reading about how the servitors were still very conscious of what has happened and their status, but because of the medical procedure they were just a prisoner inside their own mind.
Imagine seeing, hearing, etc. Your surroundings, willing your body to move but it does not respond while the subroutines within your brain manipulate your body like a Marionette.

I prolly wouldnt even be a servitor. Id be chopped up for the magos biologica or gods forbid the fucking dark mechanicum to put onto other servitors or whatever
