"Judy Heumann’s will and determination to fight for the rights of people with disabilities has a similar analogy to the work of Martin Luther King, Jr. She was far ahead of everyone on fighting for the rights of people with disabilities, and so many have benefited immensely from her lifelong work in advocacy. Judy’s legacy will remain in the hearts and minds of all of us who continue to fight for the rights of people with disabilities, and I’m so proud to have known her.” – Dr. James Rimmer, NCHPAD Director

This video was recommended to me on YouTube and I’m so glad I watched. I’ve been disabled since the age of nine due to a traffic accident and go through phases where I’m more or less disabled. I don’t feel like I’ve been connected to the disabled community at large and have been feeling a lack of community. Watching this, I feel the need to reach out and see if there’s a place for me to connect with others.
