iPhone 7 Plus Camera Review | 2025

This is my camera review of the iPhone 7 Plus.
With wide aperture of f/1.8, OIS and the dual lenses, the camera on the iPhone 7 Plus is better than any of the previous generation iPhones.

Im not an iPhone fan, and but I simply adore my iPhone 7Plus.

Hvg compared it to Huawei P9, Samsung S7 and S8, I still prefer my 7Plus even though it doesnt belong to me (company phone).

As a hardcore photographer since 1985, I love the more neutral colours of the 7P, which allows that minimally processed JPG to be easily edited slightly.

7P's JPGs are not as aggresively processed as in Samsung's phones, and gives me more space/latitude for editing.

Most importantly, 7P's photos hv that elusive "depth" which makes the S7 and S8's photos look hard, flat, cold and emotionless.

The HTC U11 is the only other smartphone with a camera system that I admire.

I continue to go back to Apply because I enjoy its minimal design. The functions of Samsung blow iPhones out of the water but unless you utilise all the additional functions, they’re basically the same thing. I only use my phone to call, send texts, browse the web and watch videos, all of which the iPhone 7+ does amazingly. Bought a second hand phone for $390 and it’s still going strong (thankfully) with no regrets whatsoever. The simple layout of the home screen without all the unecessary tools keeps my OCD in check 😁

I remember when I really wanted an iPhone 7 Plus cause of the dual camera system as I found it really cool during the time this phone came out in 2016, I had a 5c at the time and was on a tight budget. I’m currently using a 12 Pro Max.
