Aww I love Halep sportsmanship at the net. Rare to watch that in WTA.

Full respect to Simona who waited at the net for Alizé. 😌❤️ great game for both and such a great work by Alizé to reach the quarters. 💪🏻

Cornet into her 1st ever slam quarter!! Talk about 13 years of persistence. The giant killer finally makes her own deep run.

Anothr point i’d Like to make! In Australia, the workers in construction/building industry stop work when temperatures heat 31*C. So, these players continue play at 34 degrees, which usually feels like 44! I think players should take Australia tennis ass. Or the tournament to court, for allowing them to play in such unhealthy conditions. In the final of 2018 Simo also suffered because of heat and ended up with drip, in hospital, greatly dehydrated! Her mum told her not to put her life in danger, anymore, but, it’s the hungry organisers who do that, to create more drama with this sport! Honestly, this practise has to stop!

if you watch closely ... dangerous favorites play at 34 degrees Celsius🤯. the hosts' guards play in the evening, at reasonable temperatures😉🤫. I love fair play😂🤣😅😜

What a feel good story. I remember watching Cornet for the 1st time against Venus at the FO in 2007. It's nice that she's finally gotten into a major QF.

I'm saving this match to watch again. It's not easy to beat Halep, but Cornet did it.

This is terrible loss for Halep. She had such an easy draw and couldn’t capitalize on it. Anyway congrats to Cornet. She’s a grinder who plays consistently at the different tour events. I’m happy she’s able to have such a huge breakthrough.

Cornet moves very similar to Martina Hingis

Fabulous Competitive Match! Win-Lose always the normal scenario in tennis courts to GOAT too which causes lots of emotional frustration and depression.

Simona, you should know that the more dangerous the host sees you, in the path of a local hero (Barty, this time) the worst time and worst conditions they host will give you, so you are destroyed physically and emotionally! You are played everywhere you go, by these tourney hosts! At wimbly, they ‘ll cover for Raducanu, i presume! In Paris, there’ll be Cornet maybe, if she graduates! If not, other opponents that are famous and usually with a capitalistic background! Great players from Russia or former socialist country rarely matter, unless they’re Djokovic- who is a man (they treat men differently) and who made a great name 4 himself! But the rest are from Swits, from Spain, from US! Where you come from matters, indeed!

Australia Open! This practice of putting some players in danger at AO has to STOP! I refer to the times when you coerce them to play during distressing times with temperatures over 30 ! You do this while you preserve best times for your local players, who shd be more able to play, since they’re used to heat! STOP! Stop the injustice and stop the heat! You have means, you have roof and air conditioners! And ALL players should be treated fairly! Not the most dangerous given the worst time frame, and the locals given the best cool times!

In this AO Cornet played plus than 5 hours before this match Halep barely played 3 hours, heat punished her so bad and she was almost done physically before the end of 1st set unlike Cornet much used to the high temperatures I don't know how Halep still took a set Cornet defensive skills is really amazing. 34 degrees isn't a joke chair umpire did a good job she could've applied a lot of time violations during the match but used common sense.

Aussie OPen should have all stadiums with roof, to protect the players from sun, it is cancerigen energy. many may get skin cancer in future due to so many hours under burning sun. There are very light new materials to build a roof, they dont need a super strong structure.
